British Airways will offer complimentary quick onboard wifi by way of space-based agreement
Flyers aboard the airline will soon access high-speed wifi onboard without charge following a new partnership from Elon Musk's satellite company.
No-cost plus Fast Internet Across the Board
The airline revealed that this free, “quick and reliable” connectivity offering through the satellite provider will be offered to passengers flying coach, premium economy, and premium cabins starting the coming month.
Broad Rollout Across Multiple Airlines
The parent organization for British Airways, the airline group, announced it had reached an agreement involving the satellite firm to provide wifi access on over 500 aircraft within its operators, which also include the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, plus Vueling.
Uninterrupted Internet from Gate through Landing
The airline explained that this introduction for the service was included in a seven billion pound “transformation” initiative and would provide lag-free connectivity access for flyers starting at the gate to arrival, including when traveling across large bodies of water and isolated areas.
Customers may hook up multiple devices while won't need to need a special login.
“Gamechanging for us as well as our customers, elevating onboard service onboard our flights by offering passengers seamless internet throughout the flight.”
Current Connectivity Services
Limited connectivity access is currently provided to BA flyers across the majority of their planes using its .air service.
Participants in BA’s reward scheme may send messages plus plain-text emails in the air free of charge, whereas travelers wishing to stream music, video, or films throughout their flight who are not flying in premium cabins might be charged from four pounds ninety-nine to £21.99 for a wifi plan.

Recent Developments for British Airways
BA's executive team have been striving to turn British Airways back following a period with financial constraints, IT problems, industrial action, and mass redundancies.
British Airways noted that implementation of AI contributed to it to reach the airline's on-time performance to peak performance since over a decade ago.
Profit Performance
Recently, BA reported a jump for financial performance during the first six months recently, contributing to the parent company profit to grow.
IAG is due to announce their results for the quarter from July to September on Friday.
Other Satellite Agreements
The airline's update comes days after mobile phone operator Virgin Media O2 revealed it was partnering alongside the satellite provider to improve wireless coverage across remote areas of the UK, by allowing customers to easily hook up mobile devices through satellites in the absence of standard mobile signal is available.
