District Attorney Unveils Startling Details in Charlie Kirk Assassination
In what was described as “an American tragedy,” prosecutors laid out an alarming narrative of the accused murder of rightwing activist Charlie Kirk.
An Orchestrated Assault
As stated by the district attorney’s office, Tyler Robinson turned into overwhelmed with animosity for Kirk and his ideology. Officials claim Robinson premeditated the murder in just over a week after learning Kirk would be appearing at Utah Valley University.
Messages Reveal Admission
Prosecutors say Robinson sent his housemate texts admitting to the murder. In a particular conversation, Robinson reportedly stated, “I seized the chance to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”
“Delete this exchange,” the suspect allegedly wrote in a later communication.
Murder Weapon Details
Investigators believe a bolt-action rifle belonging to Robinson’s grandfather was employed in the shooting. The gun was subsequently found in a adjacent area wrapped in a towel.
Multiple unspent rounds were found with the rifle, each marked with inflammatory messages.
Political Reasons
Based on testimony from Robinson’s parent, the suspect had over the past year become increasingly ideological and started tilting more to the left, embracing gay and trans rights.
Robinson had also started seeing his roommate, a man who was transitioning, which reportedly caused tension within his household.
Apprehension and Charges
The suspect was taken into custody on September 12 and accused with first-degree murder. Prosecutors announced they will seek the death penalty.
Authorities say Robinson’s own parent recognized him from media photos of the suspect and contacted investigators.

The suspect had an initial hearing on Tuesday, with a preliminary proceeding scheduled for September 29.
