Emma Raducanu wraps up this year's campaign and has decided to continue with her coach for 2026.
Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.
The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in the last two tournaments this season as a result of the illness she has been fighting in recent days.
The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but chose to travel back to regain her health before starting plans for the 2026 season.
Those preparations are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.
Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.
She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.
She was also playing with clear difficulty in the final set against Zhu due to back discomfort that has affected her during parts of the season.
Those results followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.
Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.
She secured 28 matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.
The British number one made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.
She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.
The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.
Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.
She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.
Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
