Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences expanding in strength within the city.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
