The Streaming Platform to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed title that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for embracing violence and mayhem with the same glee, all while telling captivating, politically driven narratives. Little surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two visionaries whose creations have embodied all of those things.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game property, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' structure by introducing a different setting and ensemble in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we do not know what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family continues to lift me up with their ongoing trust and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone show. Every title is a take of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To create a big action show that can shift from season to season, while always exploring the essence of people through this multifaceted and unpredictable lens, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, ambitious style to the screen.”

A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
