The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Teaser Debuts, Unveiling Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voices

Nintendo alongside Illumination unveiled the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. It was showcased in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that centered on the upcoming animated film.

The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will propel Mario to the far corners of the galaxy. Along the way, he discovers a new princess and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.

A Cosmic Adventure Inspired by Classic Games

Much like the games from the Wii period that serve as its inspiration, Mario will venture away from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. During his grand adventure, he will reunite with some familiar faces, including the Luma, a popular character from the previous film.

But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who seemingly commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.

Celebrity Voice Actors Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers

The feature will welcome back of the primary vocal talent, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. This was confirmed by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.

A Big Year for Mario

Mario's latest cinematic adventure is set to release close to the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 is shaping up to be a significant year for Mario and his allies.

The company has three new games already confirmed for that year, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

Launch Date Set

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
